FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KnuckleBonz Creates Limited Edition
RUSH “Starman” Statue

KnuckleBonz Works with Geddy, Alex and Neil of Rush to Get Final Approval
on the Sculpture of the Iconic Figure “Starman” that First Appeared on ‘2112’.

Dec, 2008 - - KnuckleBonz announces its plans to create the Rush Starman statue for availability this holiday season 2008.  This is a limited edition, hand-painted collectible which is numbered and officially licensed.

KnuckleBonz creates hi-end sculpture that features rocks most highly influential artists. This is a first interpretation of album art in the KnuckleBonz Rock Iconz® Limited Edition sculpture series.

The Rush “Starman” Rock Iconz Statue
The Starman figure stands approximately 9” tall and is painted in a hi-gloss silver paint in front of the red/black star to deliver a 3D version of the iconic Rush logo.  The statue comes with a certificate of authenticity and is created as a limited edition. Only 3000 will be created.

The Rush “Starman” statue is officially licensed through RUSH and Anthem Entertainment. KnuckleBonz received some art direction from the band members on how they wanted Starman to be created.

“When album art was still the most important thing in life, I remember first staring for hours at Starman on the back cover of ‘2112’,” says Tony Simerman, President and Creative Director of KnuckleBonz, Inc. “Starman has been every Rush fan’s companion for over 30 years. Since I was 12 years old, many bands and music genres have come and gone, but Rush has thankfully remained constant.

The combination of musicianship, interesting lyrical concepts and outstanding live performance puts Rush in a class of its own,” remarks Simerman.  “The story of Starman as it can be heard in ‘2112’ speaks to Neil Peart’s ability to create interesting and unique lyrical content. This greater meaning along with the simplistic styling makes this a perfect subject for sculpture.”

About the RUSH STARMAN
“Starman” first appeared as the central figure of the sci-fi concept opus ‘2112’.  It has taken on many meanings to fans as the iconic silhouette that has accompanied Geddy, Alex and Neil on their 30+ year journey.

For some, the image is simply a mascot for the band itself or perhaps of progressive rock. Well versed Rush fans recognize the more literal meaning as the 2112 hero standing against the oppression of “The Federation,” which is symbolized by the red star. However, for others it shapes a larger and more abstract significance of Ayn Rand’s “self” and the struggle against the collective masses. These varied perceptions, combined with the artwork’s simplistic beauty are the power of the RUSH Starman.
